Strong community ties are essential

We work with a number of partner organisations, community groups and individuals to help those in our care build skills, confidence, and positive connections for life beyond prison. 

Some of our partnerships are:

Sacro Connect

Sacro is a Scottish community justice organisation which works to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities. Their Sacro Connect service provides support for South Lanarkshire prisoners who are serving short term sentences in HMP Addiewell and looking to return to their local authority after release, with a specific focus on individuals who have alcohol and drug use experience.

Wise Group 

The Wise Group Mentoring Service offers personal, through-the-gate support for men preparing to return to the community. Wise Group mentors work with individuals while they are still in prison and continue their support in the community — helping with things like housing, addiction recovery, employment, and getting peoples life back on track.
